Deanna Wagner, M.D.
Deanna Wagner, MD, has joined the staff at Midwest Center for Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery. She is a board certified general and aesthetic dermatologist.
Dr. Deanna Wagner attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for her undergraduate and medical education. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors College and received a Bachelor of Science with Distinction and High Honors in Cellular Molecular Biology and graduated at the top of her class from the University of Michigan Medical School.
After eight years of study in Ann Arbor, Dr. Wagner traveled to Ohio to complete an additional four years of postgraduate medical training at one of the best hospitals in the country, the Cleveland Clinic. While there, she was honored with the Individual Caregiver Excellence Award for Compassion, an award given to only one doctor per year in the Cleveland Clinic health care system. Dr. Wagner completed her internship in Internal Medicine with specialty training in Plastic Surgery and residency in Dermatology.
Throughout her education, Dr. Wagner devoted much time to medical research. Her discovery of two new cancer-causing genes is her proudest academic achievement. After completing a residency program, Dr. Wagner passed the American Board of Dermatology certifying examination and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Her excellent training has provided her with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, multicultural skin conditions, acne, eczema, psoriasis and rare conditions such as lupus.
The most rewarding aspect of medicine for Dr. Wagner is her daily interaction with patients and providing them with the best care possible. Her interests are broad and include general skin disorders, pediatric dermatology, cosmetics, and surgical dermatology. She provides many cosmetic dermatologic services including laser therapy, chemical peels and soft tissue augmentation with injectable fillers and Botox®. She enjoys solving complex diagnostic problems and developing individualized treatment plans unique to each patient’s needs.
Dr. Wagner grew up in Clinton Township, Michigan. She attended Dakota High School in Macomb, Township and was valedictorian of her graduating class. Dr. Wagner and her husband Greg met in college. Both are loyal supporters of the the wrestling team at the University of Michigan, where Greg was team captain and a three-time All-American heavyweight wrestler. The Wagner's enjoy spending time with their newborn son Paul, walking their beagle Brock Samson, golfing, watching football, and cooking homemade Italian food for their family and friends.
