Tova Rogers, MD

Dr. Rogers was born and raised in Detroit, a city for which she has endless pride. She took a meandering route to medicine that started at the College for Creative Studies where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art with a minor in art history. She went on to receive her Master of Fine Arts in sculpture at Cranbrook Academy of Art and was a Fulbright grant finalist. Her work has been exhibited at regional and national galleries.

After completing her art studies, Dr. Rogers pursued her childhood dream of becoming a physician. She attended Columbia University to study premedical sciences. She then moved to Israel, where she received her medical doctorate at Tel Aviv University, simultaneously performing basic science research at Tel Aviv Medical Center. She was also selected for a Medical Student Research Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and received a research award for her work on early skin cancer detection. Dr. Rogers has published numerous scientific journal articles and presented her work at national conferences. She graduated medical school at the top of her class, receiving the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Dr. Rogers returned to Detroit for her internship at Henry Ford Hospital. She completed her dermatology residency at Emory University, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Dr. Rogers’ art training allowed for an effortless transition to dermatology and a talent for dermoscopy, surgery, and aesthetics.

Dr. Rogers lives with her fiancé, a painter who trained at the Rhode Island School of Design. They spend their free time traveling, visiting art galleries and museums, and hiking with their dogs, Ida and Flo.
